LSC News Update (November 2008):
Seems like our skating season just started, and its already November! With the Christmas Holiday season right around the corner, our skating families seem to be busier than ever!
We are currently working hard on our annual Baked Goods Fundraiser. Delivery for food orders will be on Tuesday November 18. Order forms should be handed in without money, as all monies will be collected when you pickup your order. We will need lots of help that day, so if you can help please contact us at the club. This is our biggest fundraiser, and your help is greatly appreciated!
Our next Pizza Hut Night will be Tuesday November 4. The Leamington Pizza Hut will give us back a portion of the sales earned that night as a fundraiser. Just mention the Leamington Skating Club when you place your take out order or when you are paying your bill, and they will keep your receipt aside for us.
Our Cash Calendars are in and we still have several skaters who have not yet picked theirs up – these were paid for with your child(s) registration. Please stop in at our skating club room and pickup your calendar(s). Remember to turn in the stubs from the calendars by Thursday December 18 in order to have your stub included in the draws.
Also, we have a nice collection of skating dresses and skates for re-sale. Items are on display in the skating club room and have the prices listed on them. Please stop in and have a look. If you are interested in purchasing an item, please see a board member for payment.
Good luck to our skaters who will be participating in the John McKay Memorial Skating Competition which will be held November 29 & 30 in Tillsonburg.
Plans are beginning to take shape for this year’s annual Skating Carnival to be held on Saturday April 4. This year’s theme will be “So you think you can SK8!” and more information will be coming out soon so watch your child(s) mailbox and the whiteboard for info!
We will once again be participating in the annual Thornhill Fun Competition held in April. This year’s production theme will be “Hairspray” and there will be a newsletter issued soon with more details.
Reminder to all skaters/parents/members: There will be no skating on Saturday November 29 or Sunday November 30 due to a hockey competition.
Also, on Tuesday December 2 all skating will be held on the Unico Ice Surface.
Please mark your calendars with the above info and remember to always check out our website for upcoming events and important information!!
